Alabama football recruiting update as of October 9, 2016. The Crimson Tide will build up for a big recruiting weekend a couple of weeks from now.
October 9, 2016Alabama football recruiting update as of October 9, 2016.
Nick Saban’s team took care of Arkansas this past weekend, 49-30, and now it will get ready to visit Knoxville where the Tennessee Volunteers are looking to bounce back after their first loss of the season to Texas A&M.
But on the recruiting trail, the Crimson Tide is still a couple of weeks out from hosting those same Aggies, and that Oct. 22 matchup will have some big-time spectators in attendance.
Alabama will host 5-star offensive tackle Foster Sarell, even though it appears he’s set to choose Washington and stay close to home. The same sentiment can be felt for 4-star safety Jaylen Kelly-Powell, who will be in Tuscaloosa but seems destined to stay close to home with Michigan.
The Tide will also welcome 5-star prospect Cam Akers, the No. 2 running back in the country. Ole Miss seems to be the favorite to land Akers, but a great visit can change a lot of things. We saw that when 5-star linebacker Dylan Moses committed hours after his official visit to Tuscaloosa.
With Moses, 4-star linebacker Markail Benton, and 5-star linebacker VanDarius Cowan, who will also be visiting for the Texas A&M game, the Crimson Tide don’t necessarily need 5-star linebacker Baron Browning, but he’s set to visit the Friday before the game versus the aggies.
Four-star tight end Major Tennison, a former Texas commit, will be on campus as well. Alabama is in a great position to land him.
