April 4, 2016Alabama football recruiting update as of April 4, 2016. The Crimson Tide didn’t pick up any commitments this past week, but did hand out several offers.
Nick Saban and his staff have slowed their roll over the last week.
Alabama dropped one spot from No. 6 to No. 7 in the 2017 class rankings and still sit with seven commits.
The Crimson Tide did extend scholarship offers to three 2019 recruits: outside linebacker Owen Pappoe, running back Trey Sanders and wide receiver Dominick Blaylock.
A pair of 2017 recruits picked up offers, too: 4-star offensive tackle Chuck Filiaga and 4-star safety Grant Delpit.
There was some big news that didn’t go the Tide’s way. Five-star athlete Dylan Moses, the No. 2 overall recruit, visited Texas over the weekend, which led to the Longhorns dethroning Alabama as Moses’ leader.
The Tide didn’t fall very far. Moses has Alabama ranked as his No. 2 team now, and there is still plenty of time for Saban’s staff to leapfrog Charlie Strong’s crew.
Below is an overview of how the Tide’s 2017 recruiting class currently sits.
