An Alabama football recruiting update as of September 25, 2016. The Crimson Tide has some important visits coming up with some of the nation's top prospects.
September 25, 2016Alabama football recruiting update as of September 25, 2016.
This upcoming weekend will be a big one for the Crimson Tide. Not so much because it will welcome the Kentucky Wildcats to Tuscaloosa, but rather because of the high-caliber prospects visiting the Alabama campus.
There will be three names to keep an eye on: 5-star linebacker Dylan Moses, 5-Star offensive guard Wyatt Davis and 4-star linebacker Jacob Phillips.
Davis, the No. 1 offensive guard and No. 14 overall player in the nation, has been committed to Ohio State since June, but the Tide could change the direction of that wind by giving Davis a great visit. Davis is an aggressive, nasty run blocker, who would fit perfectly with Alabama.
As for Phillips, he’s the No. 7 inside linebacker and No. 228 overall player in the 2017 recruiting class. Both Oklahoma and Tennessee are making strong pushes for the Nashville, Tennessee native, but Alabama could really help itself out this weekend.
When it comes to Moses. He’s one of the most talked about recruits in the country — mostly because Alabama and LSU offered him before he even got to high school. It’s difficult to imagine Moses going anywhere but back home to Baton Rouge, but Les Miles’ job security remains shaky following the Tigers’ 18-13 loss to Auburn Saturday. If Miles is fired, the recruitment for Moses could be blown wide open, and a solid visit on Saturday could make Alabama the favorite if Miles is shown the door.
