October 30, 2016ACC football standings for Week 10 of the season. The Clemson Tigers lead the Atlantic still after picking up a huge win over Florida State.
We had a battle of Atlantic division rivals Saturday night — and a matchup between two prime Heisman Trophy candidates — when Clemson took on Florida State in Tallahassee. Both Deshaun Watson and Dalvin Cook proved why they belong in the conversation for college football’s most notable accolade, but it was the Tigers who came away with a 37-34 win.
Lamar Jackson had a Hesiman moment of his own to keep Louisville in second place. The Cardinals survived their matchup with Virginia when Jackson found Jaylen Smith for a 29-yard touchdown with 13 seconds remaining to win the game, 32-25. Jackson ended up with 361 passing yards and four touchdowns on 24-of-41 completed passes. But, as usual, he did it with his legs, too. Jackson ended up with 88 rushing yards on 17 carries.
In the Coastal division, Virginia Tech now has a hold over first place following the Hokies’ 39-36 win over Pitt. North Carolina had a bye week and sits in second place now.
Plus, Georgia Tech took down last place Duke, 38-35, and now the Yellow Jackets sit in fourth place ahead of Miami, who fell to Notre Dame, 30-27.
