Jim Harbaugh’s Wolverines are looking to make a statement with their 2017 recruiting class by building up an offense to match one of the nation’s stingiest defensive units.
The program took another step in the right direction when 3-star running back A.J. Dillon committed to Michigan, giving the Wolverines their fifth commit on offense and second running back in the class. His commitment jumped Michigan from No. 17 to No. 13 in the class rankings.
Dillon tweeted out a message Monday morning with the news of his commitment.
The 3-star ball carrier is 6-foot, 223 lbs with excellent balance and footwork. Dillon uses his power and toughness to break through tackles and gain yards after contact. He also has an ability to catch the ball out of the backfield.
Dillon joins 3-star running back Kurt Taylor, from Covington, Ga., who committed to Michigan in mid-October.
It’s only March, but Harbaugh’s class is already taking shape.
