Four-star running back Camron Davis has given a verbal pledge to Miami. He joins five-star product Lorenzo Lingard in the 2018 class.

Mark Richt and his staff are continuing their efforts to make Miami an upper-echelon team in the ACC.

The Hurricanes made their 2018 recruiting class even stronger on Saturday when they received a commitment from Camron Davis.

The Miami (FL) Carol City four-star running back joins five-star Lorenzo Lingard in the ’18 class, which gives the ‘Canes quite a 1-2 punch in the backfield. Lingard is ranked No. 14 in the first-ever CI 25, while Davis helped his high school squad win Florida’s 6A State Championship in 2016.

A former Oregon State commit, Davis is a slasher and one of the top running backs in South Florida. His commitment comes on the heels of the ‘Canes getting a pledge from safety Randy Russell, a close friend of Davis’ who now plans to join him in Coral Gables.

Davis had a breakout junior year after recording 300-plus yards and four touchdowns as a sophomore. In 2016, he had 820 yards and 13 rushing scores as well as 94 receiving yards and a TD while splitting time with Nayquan Wright, who is a four-star player in the 2019 class.

Davis had 16 other offers, including Oregon (his favorite school growing up), Oregon State, Michigan State, Wisconsin and Georgia.
