    Indiana Football Recruiting Class Overview

The Hoosiers got a few nice prospects from the JUCO ranks and loaded up on mostly on offense, but the defensive side got some help for the secondary. The program will never be able to beat out the big boys for most talent, but it was able to pull in just enough to be okay. A smallish class, there isn’t a lot of bulk.

The Class Is Heavy On …

Defensive backs. The Hoosiers got a few good pass catchers, a couple of nice tight ends, and a few key offensive linemen, but the secondary got the stars with CB A’shon Riggins and safeties Khalil Bryant and Brandon Drayton all big defensive backs who can handle themselves against the tougher receivers. JUCO transfer Jayme Thompson is another large defensive back who can help to fill in now.

The Star of the Class Is …

DB/WR Jonah Morris, 6-4, 205 – The only question is where he’s going to play. He’s very big, very fast, and very versatile with the size to become a top safety and the athleticism to grow into a terrific receiver. Notre Dame, Michigan State, and Wisconsin all tried to get him.

The Team’s Biggest 2016 Depth Chart Hole Is …

The defensive line. With Darius Latham choosing to leave early for the NFL, the Hoosiers lose all three starters up front along with LB Zack Shaw. The offense needs to keep on rolling without QB Nate Sudfeld and RB Jordan Howard, while the line has to replace Jason sprigs at left tackles and center Jake Reed.
