New head coach Nick Rolovich needs to get through this year, and then start to do what he needs to for an offense that needs a kickstart. This isn’t a huge class, and there aren’t many major factors, but he’s keeping some of the better prospects home and filling in a few depth holes with JUCO transfers. He has a veteran team returning, so this year’s class is looking towards the future.
Outside linebacker. The Warriors need the offense to get a lot better and stronger in a big hurry, and it got a nice receiver in Kalakaua Timoteo to stay close to home and be a major factor early on, and with JUCO transfer Marcus Armstrong-Brown and Los Angeles native Eugene Ford both big targets, but the class needs the linebackers to eventually grow into the stars. Abraham Reinhardt is a JUCO transfer to help with the right now, but Jeremiah Pritchard needs to eventually become the tone-setter.
LB Jeremiah Pritchard, 6-0, 210 – Safety Keala Santiago got some looks late in the game from the Pac-12, and had several Mountain West offers, but he’s the hometown guy who needs to eventually be the sheriff of the secondary. Pritchard needs to get bigger and stronger, but he’s a great athlete on the outside who chose the Rainbow Warriors over Colorado.
Linebacker. Hawaii has a veteran team returning with ten starters back on offense and most of the key parts of the defense back, but the linebacking corps losses three starters in the top four along with some key backups. That doesn’t mean the current recruiting class will take over right away, but the opportunities will be there to provide a little bit of depth.
