Take … the … field.
Who were the Bovada Sportsbook 2015 preseason Heisman Trophy favorites? TCU QB Trevone Boykin and Ohio State RB Ezekiel Elliott were both 5/1 favorites by the time the season started, with OSU QB J.T. Barrett at 9/1 and Georgia RB Nick Chubb, USC QB Cody Kessler, LSU RB Leonard Fournette, and Mississippi State QB Dak Prescott in the mix.
Clemson QB Deshaun Watson was 12/1, and Alabama RB Derrick Henry was 25/1.
The 2009 Heisman race shaped up to be among the best of all-time with reigning winner Sam Bradford out of Oklahoma back, Texas QB Colt McCoy a favorite, and Florida QB Tim Tebow a former winner in the mix.

But 2016 really does shape up to be one of the greatest Heisman races ever with more superstar talent returning than ever before, headlined by 2015 finalist Christian McCaffrey and with Watson both back.
Watson is the early favorite at 9/2, with LSU RB Leonard Fournette and McCaffrey checking in at 5/1, and Barrett and Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield each at 10/1. But who’s not on the list who might be there at the finish line? First, the full Bovada list …

When referring to The Field, here you go …
Or anyone who ends up starting as the Bear QB. Baylor is going to be Baylor again, and the Baylor quarterback is going to put up Baylor statistics again. This is a preseason top five-caliber team – of course the numbers are going to come fast and furious.
Remember when Wisconsin had a running game? It went through a readjustment period with a shake-up on the line and with Clement hurt all year long. The line is loaded now, Clement will be healthy, and head coach Paul Chryst will use his back like he used James Conner at Pitt.
The Irish have a strong enough receiving corps returning to make the quarterback shine on the biggest of stages. First, Notre Dame has to fully settle on who that’ll be.
He’s going to be the IT guy with the IT team everyone will be watching from the start. If Ward and the Cougars beat Oklahoma to start the season, the Heisman campaign will take off.
He’s a receiver, so he’s not going to win it, but he has more of a shot than Calvin Ridley.
