    5. Oklahoma Sooners, Big 12

This is the only real reason not having a Big 12 championship game matters – Oklahoma didn’t get a chance at one extra big win that would’ve raised the Season Score higher. Overall, outside of the loss to Texas, the season was probably even better than the tremendous score with wins over Tulsa and Kansas State – each went bowling – not counting as Quality Wins, but not being that far off.

Even so, the Sooners had a nasty finishing kick having to go on the road to face Baylor and Oklahoma State, and beating TCU at home in a thriller. The seven Quality Wins were the most by anyone outside of the top four.

Wins: 11 – Akron, at Tennessee, Tulsa, West Virginia, at Kansas State, Texas Tech, at Kansas, Iowa State, at Baylor, TCU, at Oklahoma State

Losses: 2 – Texas (in Dallas), Clemson (Orange Bowl)

Quality Wins: 7 – Akron, at Tennessee, West Virginia, Texas Tech, at Baylor, TCU, at Oklahoma State

Elite Wins: 3 – at Baylor, TCU, at Oklahoma State

Bad Wins: 2 – at Kansas, Iowa State

Elite Losses: 1 – Clemson (Orange Bowl)
