And You Care Because … South Alabama got a Hunter Vaughn 28-yard touchdown catch and an eight-yard scoring throw to Danny Woodson, to go along with an eight-yard touchdown pass to Terrance Timmons for the 24-17 lead, but the D had to come up with a stop as Tyler Jones’ final pass attempt from the four-yard line fell incomplete in the end zone. Texas State started out up 10-0 on with a one-yard Robert Lowe run and the first of two Will Johnson field goals, and was up 17-7 late in the first half on a 46-yard Lawrence Wright catch. USA scored 17 straight points before TXST got back on the board with Johnson’s second field goal.
What Else? South Alabama QB Hunter Vaughn completed 20-of-28 passes for 182 yards and a touchdown with a pick, ran 12 times for 15 yards, and caught a 28-yard touchdown pass

And You Care Because … Appalachian State got two touchdown runs from Marcus Cox and two scoring passes and a touchdown run from Taylor Lamb as part of a 37-7 scoring run after getting down 13-0. Arkansas State got three touchdown passes from Fredi Knighten, who made it interesting late with a scoring throw from ten yards out to Dairon Griswold and a nine-yard play to Johnston White to pull the Red Wolves within five late, but the Mountaineers were able to close the game down.
What Else? Appalachian State RB Marcus Cox ran 40 times for 229 yards and two touchdowns, and caught two passes for 54 yards
– Arkansas State QB Fredi Knighten completed 14-of-28 passes for 147 yards and three scores, and ran nine times for 35 yards and a touchdown

And You Care Because … The Louisiana-Lafayette got up 17-7 in the first quarter helped by a one-yard Elijah McGuire run and a 16-yard Al Riles catch, but ULM’s Pete Thomas bombed away with a five-yard touchdown pass to Kenzee Jackson in the first quarter and a 45-yarder to Rashon Ceaser late in the fourth. The Warhawks had a late chance, but turned it over. Terrance Broadway threw two touchdown passes and ran for a late score.
What Else? Louisiana-Lafayette RB Alonzo Harris ran 13 times for 133 yards
– ULM QB Pete Thomas completed 38-of-54 passes for 472 yards and two scores, and he ran for a touchdown

– Louisiana-Lafayette QB Terrance Broadway completed 10-of-13 passes for 173 yards and two touchdowns with an interception, and ran 19 times for 94 yards and a score

And You Care Because … Keenan Reynolds ran for six touchdowns and threw for another as Navy overcame an early 7-0 deficit with 31 straight points and never had a problem. Reynolds found Jamir Tillman for a 14-yard score and ran for touchdowns from one, 22, one, 27 and 15 yards away before putting the game well out of reach on a 39-yard dash. Georgia Southern did its part for the ground game with Matt Brieda running for touchdowns from 36 and 88 yards out, but it wasn’t nearly enough to keep up the pace.
What Else? Navy QB Keenan Reynolds completed 5-of-8 passes for 71 yards and a score, and ran 30 times for 277 yards and six touchdowns

And You Care Because … Brandon Silvers threw two touchdown passes to Bryan Holmes from 41 and 51 yards out, and Jordan Chunn ran for a 13-yard touchdown to give Troy the 24-17 first half lead. The Trojan defense clamped down getting a 28-yard Montres Kitchens pick six and not allowing a point in the second. Idaho managed a 64-yard Joshua McCain touchdown catch and a one-yard Jerrrel Brown scoring dash to keep it up in the first half, but the O sputtered and made too many mistakes in the second.
