    Oct. 18 at Florida Atlantic 45, WKU 38 
    And You Care Because … FAU roared back in the fourth quarter with 17 unanswered points on a Greg Joseph field goal and a four-yard Greg Howell run to tie it, and less than a minute later, after a WKU three-and-out, Jaquez Johnson found Lucky Whitehead for a 61-yard touchdown to take the lead for good. The FAU recovered a fumble on WKU’s final shot, and the comeback was complete. WKU was rolling early, with Brandon Doughty throwing three touchdown passes and Leon Allen running for two scores, but FAU stayed alive with two Johnson touchdown passes – including a 20-yarder to Whitehead – and a one-yard run before the wild fourth quarter rally.

    – FAU QB Jaquez Johnson completed 23-of-34 passes for 325 yards and three touchdowns, and ran 17 times for 95 yards and two scores 
    – FAU WR Lucky Whitehead caught eight passes for 125 yards and two touchdowns 
    – WKU QB Brandon Doughty completed 28-of-44 passes for 335 yards and three touchdowns with an interception

    Oct. 18 Southern Miss 30, at North Texas 20 
    And You Care Because … Southern Miss started out the scoring with a 40-yard Michael Thomas touchdown catch, and got the first of three Corey Acosta field goals. North Texas came up with a two-yard Antoinne Jimmerson scoring run and two Trevor Moore field goals to go up 13-10 in the first half, but Southern Miss controlled the game the rest of the way. Casey Martin and George Payne each scored in the third, with Payne’s 19-yard touchdown catch breaking a 20-20 tie, and Acosta’s final field goal put it away. 
    What Else? Time of possession: Southern Miss 37:11 – North Texas 22:49 
    – Southern Miss RB Ito Smith ran 12 times for 95 yards
    – North Texas WR Carlos Harris caught 15 passes for 216 yards 
    – Total yards: Southern Miss 506 – North Texas 395

    Oct. 18 at Middle Tennessee 34, UAB 22 
    And You Care Because … UAB couldn’t overcome its big mistakes and had to settle for three Ty Long field goals and a one-yard Jordan Howard touchdown run in the first half. Middle Tennessee got two Jeremiah Bryson touchdown runs and a 65-yard Chris Perkins scoring grab, but it was behind going into the fourth after the Blazers got a 43-yard Jamari Staples touchdown catch. Reggie Whatley ran for a 67-yard score and Marcus Henry caught a 30-yard scoring pass as the Blue Raiders scored 13 unanswered points. 
    What Else? Middle Tennessee RB Reggie Whatley ran seven times for 100 yards and a score 
    – UAB RB Jordan Howard ran 32 times for 121 yards and a score 
    – Middle Tennessee QB Austin Grammer completed 6-of-19 passes for 141 yards and two scores 
    – Penalties: UAB 10 for 90 yards – Middle Tennessee 8 for 70 yards

    Oct. 18 at Louisiana Tech 27, UTSA 20 
    And You Care Because … Kenneth Dixon ran for a three-yard score, Sterling Griffin caught a 19-yard touchdown pass and Terrell Pinson returned a fumble for a score as Louisiana Tech took control in the third quarter and held on from there. UTSA scored ten unanswered points, with Brady Jones finding Kenny Harrison for a 35-yard touchdown and Sean Ianno hitting his second field goal of the game, but turnovers and mistakes were too much to overcome. 
    What Else? Penalties: Louisiana Tech 10 for 85 yards – UTSA 8 for 85 yards 
    – Turnovers: UTSA 4 – Louisiana Tech 1 
    – Louisiana Tech RB Kenneth Dixon ran 28 times for 121 yards and a score 
    – UTSA QB Austin Robinson completed 18-of-29 passes for 138 yards and two picks

    Oct. 18 at Marshall 45, FIU 13 
    And You Care Because … Marshall QB Rakeem Cato threw four touchdown passes with Devon Johnson scoring from 46 and 27 yards out, the defense got a pick six from Corey Tindal, and Steward Butler ran for a 61-yard score as part of a 45-point run. FIU started out the scoring with a one-yard Alex McGough run, and finished it up with a four-yard Clinton Taylor catch, but Cato was too much in between. 
    What Else? Marshall QB Rakeem Cato completed 15-of-27 passes for 214 yards and four touchdowns with one interception 
    – FIU RB Alex Gardner ran 25 times for 104 yards 
    – Marshall RB Devon Johnson ran nine times for 117 yards, and led the team with 79 yards and two touchdown on three catches 
    – Time of possession: FIU 38:09 – Marshall 21:51
