And You Care Because … Marcus Henry caught a 12-yard touchdown pass on fourth and goal with 19 seconds to play to tie it, and Cody Clark’s extra point gave Middle Tennessee the lead for good after rallying back from down 13 in the third. Florida Atlantic started out the scoring on a Lucky Whitehead 80-yard touchdown run on the first play of the game, and got two Jaquez Johnson touchdown passes in the second half and a one-yard scoring run in the second quarter, but Reggie Whatley brought the Blue Raiders back on a 75-yard touchdown run in the third and a nine-yard dash late in the fourth. The Middle Tennessee struggled all game long to come up with a key stop until it absolutely had to in the final few minutes.

– Middle Tennessee RB Reggie Whatley ran 19 times for 190 yards and three scores
– Florida Atlantic QB Jaquez Johnson completed 21-of-33 passes for 304 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions, and ran 11 times for 53 yards and a score
– Middle Tennessee QB Austin Grammer completed 20-of-27 passes for 160 yards and two touchdowns with a pick, and ran ten times for 47 yards

Nov. 22 at Old Dominion 30, Louisiana Tech 27 OT
And You Care Because … Taylor Heinicke found David Washington for an eight-yard touchdown pass in overtime to give Old Dominion the win after Louisiana Tech’s Kyle Fischer started out the extra frame on a 25-yard field goal. ODU needed to rally from down ten at halftime with a 46-yard Satchel Ziffer field goal in the third and a 16-yard Cam Boyd touchdown run late in the fourth to tie it. Heinicke found Washington for a 26-yard touchdown pass late in the first half, and the Monarchs needed it with short touchdown runs from Kenneth Dixon and Marlon Seets after starting out the scoring on a ten-yard Trent Taylor catch late in the first. But the Bulldogs failed to score in the second half.
What Else? Turnovers: Old Dominion 4 – Louisiana Tech 2
– Old Dominion QB Taylor Heinicke completed 29-of-38 passes for 302 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions
– Louisiana Tech RB Kenneth Dixon ran 23 times for 106 yards and a score and caught four passes for 32 yards
– Old Dominion WR David Washington caught eight passes for 106 yards and two scores

And You Care Because … It took a little while, but Rice got up 17-3 in the third quarter on a 24-yard Jordan Taylor touchdown catch, but UTEP made it a fight with Jay Mattox’s second field goal of the game on and a five-yard Jameill Showers scoring run to pull within four. It was all Rice the rest of the way with Darik Dillard running for his second scoring run and Mario Hull catching a five-yard touchdown pass for 14 unanswered points.
What Else? Rice QB Driphis Jackson completed 10-of-22 passes for 227 yards and two scores and a pick, and ran 11 times for 53 yards
– UTEP WR Ian Hamilton caught four passes for 130 yards, and Rice WR Mario Hull caught six passes for 150 yards and a score

– Penalties: Rice 12 for 95 yards – UTEP 3 for 20 yards

Nov. 22 at North Texas 17, FIU 14
And You Care Because … Both offenses struggled, but North Texas was able to get up early on a 54-yard touchdown run from Reggie Pegram and a four-yard Marcus Smith catch. FIU managed to get on the board using defense and special teams, getting a 74-yard Richard Leonard punt return for a score in the first and a 71-yard pick six from Jeremiah McKinnon in the second. North Texas finally broke the tie late in the third on a 36-yard Trevor Moore field goal, and neither offense was able to do much else.
What Else? Total offense: North Texas 266 – FIU 147
– North Texas RB Reggie Pegram ran 26 times for 114 yards and a score
– FIU QB Alex McGough completed 11-of-25 passes for 56 yards and three picks
– North Texas QB Andrew McNulty completed 9-of-20 passes for 105 yards and a score with two picks
